COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Our aim is to connect and empower EVERYONE WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY through the power of the arts. Creative Spark delivers various community projects throughout East Dunbartonshire and partners with several community groups within our local authority to provide a wide range of fully-funded community arts projects available to all!

Spark Sensory Club

The Spark Sensory Club is designed for pre-school children and their families to explore creative play.

Each month we provide families with a themed box filled with crafting, sensory and musical items along with an instruction booklet and a follow-along video, enabling families to find their Creative Spark from the comfort of their very own home!

We are also currently in the process of organising in person Sensory Spark Play Sessions in and around our local area, so watch out for one coming to a place near you!

Creative Speaks

Bringing the voices of our young people to the community!

Creative Speaks is a podcast production ran by the young people in our community, providing a platform for them to discuss topics which they feel are important.

Our members are involved in every aspect of the process; from topic selection and research, contacting and interviewing external individuals and organisations, recording of the podcast and all social media promotion.

If you would like to have your chance to Creative Speak, then please get in touch!

Cajons in the Neighbourhood is a craft and play programme Creative Spark offers in partnership with El Taller Percussion.

During our sessions we learn about the history of the cajon; where it comes from and why it was invented. We then get to work making our very own cajon and once it's finished, we learn how to play it!

Discover Me

Rediscovering ourselves through the power of the arts!

Theatre arts workshops for young people.

The Creative Spark team have been working in partnership with Scottish Families affected by Alcohol and Drugs to provide theatre arts workshops for the young people who they support. We have led three blocks of workshops and each time we have worked together with the young people to develop their imagination, connection to each other and strengthen their knowledge and access of theatre arts.

Stitch the Gap Costume Construction Project

Getting creative with costume construction!

Creative Spark and Stitch the Gap have worked in partnership on many projects to date, including Easter Schools and Summer Schools for young people. We aim to stitch together sewing skills and theatre arts, and we are currently working in partnership on our Costume Construction Project. This project works with young people aged 12, teaching them how to construct costumes for characters they create and providing them with an insight on how costume designers and theatre directors work in unison.
